Mens Styling Products
Hair gel and other styling products was commonly viewed as a feminine focused commodity. A recent change in the market is working to provide more grooming products for men. The different product lines geared towards men are focusing on providing more options and masculine marketing to give the ability to showcase their product lines to men. What started as a couple gels and a single hair spray option has increased tenfold recently in the market.
For Style
In the past, a small sections of products existed in the hair/grooming aisles of the store targeted to men with a minimal number of products specified for their use. While some gel brands attempt gender neutral sales, a few made attempts to target men. Recently, more products from companies that produce deodorant and hair cleaning products for men are stepping up the availability for mens styling product. The products range from creams to stiff gels for stronger holds and beyond.
Grooming and Removal
Aside from the gels, there has also been an increase in grooming and hair removal products. While grooming has had a fair amount of products with clippers and razors, there are also now products for conditioning and even similar creams to remove hair.
Next will be an increase in men’s specific anti-aging products. A number of the past labelled beauty products are making the shift to provide gender specific lines. There is a start in lotions and even a minor increase in the anti-aging markets but remain minimal at this time.
